What an amazing experience!
I had an absolutely unforgettable experience at Tambuti Lodge, and a huge part of that was thanks to the incredible hospitality of Douglas and the amazing guiding by Shawn. From the moment we arrived, Douglas made us feel completely at home. His warmth, attention to detail, and genuine kindness were truly outstanding. He was always ready to help with a smile and made sure every moment of our stay was perfect. A true professional and a wonderful host. As for Shawn, what an exceptional guide! His knowledge of the wildlife is impressive, but it’s his passion and respect for nature that really stood out. Every game drive with him was a thrilling adventure. The lodge itself is stunning, comfortable accommodations, delicious food, a peaceful atmosphere and an amazing staff. And was the combination of all this factors that truly made this trip one of the best experiences of my life. I highly recommend Tambuti Lodge and can’t wait to return!

The best!
We had the most amazing stay at Tambuti Lodge. All of the staff were incredible and they always went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was perfect. The suites were spectacular and the lodge itself was stunning. The food was also first class and the structure of the day is very well organised. Review of Tambuti Safari Lodge – A Truly Unforgettable Experience From the moment we arrived at Tambuti Safari Lodge, we knew we were in for something special. Nestled in the heart of the Black Rhino Reserve within the greater Pilanesberg National Park, the lodge struck the perfect balance between luxury and intimacy. The facilities were absolutely outstanding—spacious, beautifully appointed suites with private decks, luxurious outdoor baths, and every comfort you could imagine. The setting was serene and peaceful, offering a perfect retreat after a day of adventure. But what truly set Tambuti apart was the incredible warmth and professionalism of the staff. Every single person we encountered went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and cared for. From the attentive housekeeping to the warm smiles at meal times, we felt like honored guests rather than just visitors. A special mention must go to Martin, our ranger and guide, whose passion and knowledge of the bush made every game drive unforgettable. His tracking skills were incredible, and he took time to explain animal behavior, conservation efforts, and the ecology of the area in a way that was both engaging and deeply informative. His calm, friendly demeanor made us feel safe and relaxed throughout the drives, and thanks to him, we had some truly magical sightings—including a close-up encounter with a rhino that we’ll never forget. Tambuti Safari Lodge is a place we will remember forever. If you’re looking for an authentic, luxurious, and welcoming safari experience, this is it. We left feeling refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of our return.

A real little gem of a lodge!
We had the most wonderful stay at Tambuti Lodge. If you're looking for a small, intimate exclusive lodge - then this is the one! The staff are warm and friendly, the food absolutely delish and our sightings were wonderful! We even saw a cheetah hunting. It's a birders paradise as well. Our suite was clean, comfortable and had all the amenities one could possibly need. The best part, it's only a 3 hr drive from Joburg and it's malaria free! I highly recommend a stay here :) You won't be sorry.

Amazing experience. Stayed some nights in July 2025 with my family (wife and two adult children). Excellent and cozy lodge. Service minded staff. Good food. Very skilled guide. We were so lucky to see a black Rhino amongst a lot of other animals. We will definitely be back.

This is a beautiful lodge where you are treated like a king!! The staff greets you as you arrive, thoroughly review the grounds and the agenda with you, show you to your beautiful room and prepare the most delicious meals. Our hosts and safari guide were knowledgeable and friendly. The grounds are lovely and we saw soooo many animals. We will be back :)

We had an amazing overnight day at Timbuktu lounge. The staff was extremely hospitable. The food was amazing. We had dinner outside of our suite and it was delicious. We had a private dining location, including candlelight dinner. Also when we arrive from the first Day of our game tour, Douglas had warm, lavender towels available for our hands. It was such a nice touch! Also, we came back to a hot bubble bath, and the Jacuzzi! There was no stone left unturned as they genuinely want to elevate your experience. My husband and I wish that we would have stayed another night. It was just so peaceful and serene. Our game tour was also lovely. Our guide was knowledgeable and he did his best to find every opportunity to see one of the big five. I would recommend this experience to all. And although it was chilly in the morning, they had blankets and warmers for your hand, so the experience ended up being quite nice actually.
